Eyes on the Skies

Sunny days, warm temperatures – when you visit Ayers Rock Resort during the summer months, you’ll want to bring your cossie (that’s Aussie slang for swimwear!) With pool access for everyone staying at the resort, you’ll be able to cool off with a refreshing dip anytime the Outback sun heats up. What else should be in your suitcase? Bring lots of lightweight, breathable clothes, like shorts and t-shirts. Pack a comfortable and sturdy pair of shoes for exploring, ideally a broken-in pair you’re used to so you avoid blisters on holiday. 

A hat is also a necessary piece of your kit. Choose a hat with a wide brim to protect your fact and neck from UV rays, paired with a generous dollop of sunscreen. 

Autumn and winter in the desert are significantly cooler. Pack a beanie, scarf, and gloves, particularly if you’re planning any early morning or late evening exploring – things cool off drastically when the sun is down. A packable down jacket is a great option, as well as comfy track pants, warm jumpers, and fleece. Layering up is wise – you can shed articles of clothing if you warm up during the day and bundle up as night falls.
