Make the In-Between Incredible

Team Building With A Twist

When it comes to meetings, conferences, and business events, we believe that what happens in the boardroom isn’t necessarily the most important part of the experience. It’s what happens in between. Team building activities that help colleagues connect. Inspirational settings that influence amazing new ideas. Networking, bonding, and building relationship that are great for business, better for people. That’s what a successful event is all about.

With that in mind, Ayers Rock Resort offers a wide range of activities and tours that are perfect for groups of all sizes, including authentic Indigenous programming, sunrise and sunset excursions, and challenges meant to push you out of your comfort zone. Take a break from the boardroom with a dot painting workshop, a bush tucker tasting, or an early morning stroll through the desert. Engage in some friendly competition or work together to create something beautiful.

INDIGENOUS EXPERIENCES

At the essence of the Anangu people's beliefs and traditions lies an unconditional connection to the land. This bond is a powerful, living part of this unique culture. It is spirituality that must be experienced to be understood. These tours are educational, interactive and absolutely inspirational, and easily added into a conference or incorporated into an event.

Experiences can be held at a range of locations within the Resort including the Cultural Centre, Yulara Oval or various venues within Uluru Meeting Place conference centre. Event planners can choose from the following collection of Aboriginal cultural experiences, adding impact to any event. It is possible to create a single event that incorporates all experiences, allowing large delegations to interact with each experience by rotating as smaller groups. For a full list of experiences available, or for help putting together programming for your team, contact our Business Events Sales Team.

Inma Welcome to Country

Traditional Song & Dance In Anangu culture, the art of dance is reserved for a very small number of special events and is therefore rarely seen. During the performance, senior Anangu men and women share with you their traditional song and dance or Inma. Every move and sound is rich with ancient meaning. It is recommended that the Inma be considered as a special welcome or opening for your event.

Bush Tucker Tasting & Reptile Tour

Showcasing the traditional bush food of Central Australia, your Indigenous host will walk you through the country as you learn how the local people lived in such a hot desert climate surviving on a variety of bush plants and animals. Taste a selection of bush foods, grind native seeds and have the opportunity to talk with your host about desert life. Meet the reptiles and learn about these amazing creatures that roam the desert landscape.

Sunrise Experiences

Sunrise experiences are a great way to inspire delegates and can be added in at any point throughout your conference or event itinerary. Depending on your group size and desire, tours can be arranged exclusively and incorporate a sunrise at Uluru or Kata Tjuta.

Experiences can be as simple as a delicious buffet breakfast set against an iconic backdrop leaving delegates ready to tackle the day, or involve a longer, more immersive experience like Voyages Desert Awakenings Tour which includes a private Uluru sunrise viewing, traditional bushman's breakfast, followed by a guided tour of the base of Uluru including a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole.

Sunset Experiences

If rising before dawn isn't ideal for your conference or event, why not include an equally impressive sunset experience? It's an incredible way to round off a day. Delegates wait in hushed anticipation, sipping wine and nibbling on bush-inspired canapes, as the sun begins to sink under the western horizon. A sunset Kata Tjuta tour includes a walk between the mighty rock walls into Walpa Gorge as a guide explains how the 36 domes that make up Kata Tjuta have evolved over millions of years, before seeing a magical sunset.

Amazing Race

Following the formula of the adrenaline pumping, hit international television show, the Amazing Race is an entertaining team building experience. Delegates must navigate their way through five separate challenges, following clues to their next destination within Ayers Rock Resort. All challenge stations are within easy walking distance of each other. The course can be designed to suit your group's specific needs. Delegates celebrate the winner's success at a cocktail party!
